These are papers I've written over the past year or so, mostly for school. Various subjects will someday be highlighted here - Biology, Philosophy, Combatives, etc. These are mostly the A papers - I wouldn't want anyone to read the bad ones. But these are the ones I'm proud of, that's for sure!
Obviously I have intellectual property rights to these things so please do not plagiarize. If you want to use them in one way or another, please do mail me for my permission. I'm not the rejecting type. Oh and reader beware. What you read may not be perfoctly true. I just try here. :)
| My Academic Papers: | |
| Hypertrophy and Hyperplasia: Adaptations of Muscular Tissue to Various Resistance Training Protocols | This was a paper in 2003 for Histology - that is the study of biological tissue. The title is fairly self-descriptive. It's a review of related literature and an A paper, thankfully! |
| The Scope, Process, and Importance of the Philosophy of the Human Person | This was my final paper for the Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person subject. I actually don't know what grade this got, but I like it so I'll post it. It's a Philosophy synthesis paper - a long one. [ed. it got an A too! Whee!] |
| Relative Volume on Dolfzine | This is the first article I have ever written that was published (by anyone other than myself). It's a weight training article - weight training meets a statistician. hahaha :-) It was published in the September 2003 issue of DolfZine Online Fitness, a very prestigious e-zine that has a roster of writers worth worshipping: Jerry Telle, Dave Draper, and the late Dr. Mell Siff - a man who has greatly inspired my athletic-intellectual synthesis. I am greatly honored by this privelege to publish alongside these great men. This was a very well received article, and the concepts within I use to date. |
| Negative Energy and Empty Space: The Metaphysics of Vacuum Fluctuation Theory | This is my term paper for the Cosmology and Christian Faith class in 2003 under Professor G. De Schrijver. This is the longest and most toiled upon paper that I have ever written. It's 7800+ words, and required more than 60 man hours of work, 4 major revisions, and lots and lots of brainwork. It's basically Heidegger meets Hawkingesque creation theory. I don't know what grade it will give me, but for sheer effort I put it here. |
| The Synthesis of Paradox | My Undergraduate Philosophy Synthesis Paper. It's not as good as I would want it to be. As a matter of fact, I'm not proud of it much, if at all. But it was a noble effort, sabotaged by the greater necessity and pleasure in the making of the first draft of my undergraduate philosophy thesis. |
| Poetries of Nothingness: Finding a Common Ground Between Heidegger, Zen Buddhism and Theoretical Physics | This is my largest work so far, my thesis for my AB Philosophy degree. In my opinion, it is my best work so far. It took me 3 years of work and one year of collating to put this thesis together. My Tungsten E grew weary at my fingertips, from endless nights at San Fransisco Coffee in Libis. But hey, here it is. It's not an A paper (it got a B+). But that doesn't make me any less proud of it. Dedicated to my mentor, Dr. Remmon Barbaza, and everyone who has helped me get this far. |
